What documents are needed for GST registration in Goa?

What is the Aadhaar authentication requirement for GST registration?

The GST portal requires Aadhaar e-KYC verification of the primary authorised signatory and at least one promoter/partner. If the applicant opts out of Aadhaar authentication, the application is routed to physical verification of the business premises, which significantly delays the GSTIN issuance.

What is Form GST REG-01 and what does it contain?

Form GST REG-01 is the GST registration application. Every tab must be completed accurately before submission — errors trigger rejection or officer queries.

What is a GST officer query (Form REG-03) and how should it be responded to?

If the GST officer requires additional information or clarification after reviewing the application, a notice in Form GST REG-03 is issued. The applicant must respond in Form GST REG-04 within 7 working days of the REG-03 notice. Failure to respond within the deadline results in rejection of the application (Form GST REG-05). Typical queries relate to address proof, nature of business, or authorised signatory documents.

How do I verify my GST registration certificate?

After the GSTIN is issued, Form GST REG-06 (the registration certificate) is available for download from the GST portal under 'User Services'. The certificate contains the GSTIN, legal name, trade name, constitution of business, principal place of business, and validity dates. It should be displayed at the principal place of business and all additional places of business under CGST Act Section 25(8).
