Complete CSR-1 registration in Goa — registering your trust, society or Section 8 company in Form CSR-1 with the MCA to obtain a CSR Registration Number — so your organisation is eligible to undertake CSR projects and receive corporate CSR funds.
Overview
Since April 2021, any entity that wants to implement CSR projects and receive CSR funds from companies must first register in Form CSR-1 with the MCA, which generates a unique CSR Registration Number. Without it, an NGO simply cannot receive CSR money.
Eligible entities include registered charitable trusts, societies and Section 8 companies, and the now fully web-based form requires PAN, valid 12A and 80G, the Darpan ID where registered, and certification by a practising CA, CS or CMA. We prepare and file CSR-1 with the certification, alongside Darpan and FCRA where needed.

Frequently asked questions
CSR-1 is the registration that an entity must obtain with the MCA to be eligible to undertake CSR projects and receive CSR funds from companies. On filing Form CSR-1, a unique CSR Registration Number is generated, which companies require before routing CSR funds to the entity.
Implementing agencies that intend to carry out CSR activities and receive CSR funds — typically registered charitable trusts, societies and Section 8 companies — must register in CSR-1. Since April 2021, an entity cannot receive CSR funds without this registration.
The entity generally needs a PAN, valid 12A and 80G registrations, and, where it is registered, an NGO Darpan ID, along with details of its governing body and track record. The now web-based form must be certified by a practising CA, CS or Cost Accountant. We assemble these and certify the filing.
On successful filing of CSR-1, the system generates a unique CSR Registration Number for the entity, which identifies it as an approved implementing agency. Companies use this number when channelling CSR funds, so it is essential for receiving CSR money.
Valid 12A and 80G registrations are generally required to support a CSR-1 application, as they evidence the entity's charitable status and tax exemptions. If these are not in place, we obtain them first as part of making the entity CSR-ready.
CSR-1 registration is broadly a one-time step that makes the entity eligible to receive CSR funds, though the entity must keep its underlying registrations valid and its details current. We help maintain the entity's overall compliance so the CSR registration stays effective.
