Darpan Registration

NGO Darpan is a portal maintained by NITI Aayog that issues a unique identification number — the DARPAN ID — to voluntary organisations such as trusts, societies and Section 8 companies. It creates a single recognised identity for the NGO across government systems and is free to obtain.

The DARPAN ID has become a practical prerequisite for accessing most government grants and schemes, and it is linked to the FCRA process for receiving foreign contributions. Without it, an NGO is effectively shut out of government and foreign funding channels.

Registered voluntary organisations — including charitable trusts, societies and Section 8 companies — can register. The entity must already be legally formed and have its PAN, and the identity details of its office bearers are required. We confirm your eligibility before applying.

Typically the organisation's PAN, its registration certificate, and the PAN and Aadhaar details of a few office bearers or members. We assemble these accurately, since mismatches are a common cause of rejection on the portal.
